Merlyn

Merlyn was one of just two pups.

He was the bigger of the two and with a larger nose and a wonderful appetite he quickly grew and stayed with us. He was first shown under FCI judges in Ireland and won his first ribbons as a baby puppy.

In the UK he was shown from 6 months old and in the 6 months up to a year he took seven Group 1 puppy, six Group 2 puppy and a Best Puppy in Show at the Newport show with the judge saying he was the only one to remain showing throughout his appearance in the Final Ring.

Once he progressed to being a yearling he started amassing points for his Show Certificate of Merit which he won in October 2015.

Merlyn was not shown much in the UK but did go to the 2014 Crufts under Kevin Dover where he was not placed.

At Crufts the following year in the Limit class he was placed 2nd by Australian judge Mr John Burgess in a large class.

Showing in Ireland Merlyn took the 2014 Celtic Junior Winners title followed by his Irish FCI Junior title.

He became a full Irish Champion competing at shows throughout the Republic and he took his first CACIB at the Clonmel show 2017.

His first litter was in Ireland with the Marshmere kennel in Wexford. One of his puppies Brandy stayed here and the boy is now residing in the Caribbean. Brandy is an Ir Jun Champion

He had more litters in Ireland before going to our friends Kennel in The Netherlands as a stud and to compete. In competition his first big show was the 2017 Amsterdam winners show and with competition from all over Europe competing to Qualify for Crufts Merlyn took Best of Breed and two CACs and a CACIB. The following day he went to Brussels where he won another CAC and CACIB. The following week at the Dutch Christmas show he took another CAC and CACIB. After the new year at the first show he took his fourth Dutch CAC to be awarded his second Champions title.

Whilst in The Netherlands Merlyn produced litters and some of those have entered the show world and at a Dutch Breed Club show his first pups under the Linbonsnest name took best puppy in show.

Back in the UK 2018 Merlyn needed one more CACIB and he went to the IKC October International show on the Sunday where he won Best of Breed and took his final CACIB to make him an International Champion.

Merlyn has been standing back in the last two years but one of his daughters in Ireland has tested Clear for DM and vWD,

Another one of Vincent’s pups out of our Balletcor’s Wondrous Collaboration also is Clear and the two have produced Irelands first Pembroke Corgi Clear for DM and vWD puppies. At the time of writing three pups are lined up to go to new owners in Russia, Lithuania and Italy where they will all be shown and in time services used.

Merlyn is Carrier for both DM and vWD and EIC clear.
